Misor recognized for its peace and order programs




MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA) - The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental is a recipient of awards for Recognition of Exemplar in a conducted Festival of Local Excellence on October 16, at Chali Beach Resort, Cagayan de Oro City. Misamis Oriental garnered 100% functionality in its programs for peace and order. It also has 95.5% for anti-trafficking and violence against women and children. The rating is equivalent to Ideal Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and VAWC (LCAT-VAWC). 


The Festival of Local Excellence is organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government – Region 10 to award ideal local government units which have shown outstanding performance on program implementation relating to peace and order, protection of children, and anti-trafficking and violence against women and children. 


“This month of October, we are celebrating the 32nd anniversary of the local government code under the banner of the Philippine Local Governance Program. Festival of Local Excellence is a celebration that highlights local government units’ successful implementation of their functions and invaluable contribution towards nation-building. So, this month, we have lined up so many activities with different departments to celebrate the local government code month,” said DILG-10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV.

 

The event was attended by representatives of local government units and members of LCAT-VAWC Regional Interagency Monitoring Team, Local Council for Protection of Children (LCPC) Regional Interagency Monitoring Task Force, and Peace and Order Council (POC) Performance Audit Regional Assessment Team.


On behalf of Governor Peter M. Unabia, Provincial Administrator John Venice Ladaga and colleagues received the award. (PIA-10/IJBD)
