INITAO, Misamis Oriental (PIA)–The Department of Tourism (DOT)-Region 10, in partnership with the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) and the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Tourist Rest Area (TRA) in Brgy. Jampason, Initao, Misamis Oriental. Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco led the event, stressing that TRA is vital to the DOT’s vision to elevate the complete tourism experience. The facility will offer clean restrooms, a comfortable lounge area, an information center, and a “Pasalubong” center featuring local products and designs that reflect Filipino heritage. MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA) -- To uplift the standard of living in the province, the provincial government is aiming to bring down poverty incidence to single digits within the next four years. Misamis Oriental Governor Peter M. Unabia said in his first state of the province address on January 12 that the poverty incidence among families in Misamis Oriental is at 19 percent, according to Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data for 2021. “To address the poverty incidence, we are working to raise the income of constituents through various interventions and initiatives through a whole-of-society approach anchored on the PAGLAUM development agenda. With our executive-legislative unity and purpose, it will undoubtedly pave the way to attaining various accomplishments,” he said. MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA) - The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental is a recipient of awards for Recognition of Exemplar in a conducted Festival of Local Excellence on October 16, at Chali Beach Resort, Cagayan de Oro City. Misamis Oriental garnered 100% functionality in its programs for peace and order. It also has 95.5% for anti-trafficking and violence against women and children.
