Now in its 12th year, the festival continues to evolve, with the provincial government striving to elevate it to new heights. The Kuyamis Festival, established under Sangguniang Panlalawigan Ordinance 1332-2014 during the tenure of then-Governor Yevgeny Vincente B. Emano (now Misamis Oriental 2nd District Representative), celebrates the province's rich cultural heritage.
